We provide industrial scaffolding solutions for a whole range of different projects:
In many commercial, industrial and residential cases, particularly with flat roofs, we have the option to install a more cost effective solution for your needs. By providing access towers, coupled with one of several methods of handrail installation, whether that utilise handrail brackets or supportive towers, we can enable repairs and maintenance works to your project to be undertaken safely and securely.
If you are looking to render or re-render your commercial or residential property, we can offer tailored scaffolding to ensure that your job is as easy as possible. With boarded platforms at every level and additional support within the structure that means we don’t need to rest our tubes against the building, the wall becomes your canvas to renovate and renew.
Birdcage scaffolds offer a fantastic solution for safe and sturdy platforms in a range of commercial, residential and industrial projects. These types of scaffolds fill the entire or part of a room, enabling internal projects such as internal plaster boarding in stairwells and atriums, light/chandelier replacements, joist and concrete slab installation etc, to be undertaken with the utmost safety.
Often utilised in commercial or industrial projects, these advanced design structures are erected for the purpose of accessing one of more floors to a building, with ease, to bring materials both in and out of the building. Hoist weight and sizes can vary and it is important to have a suitable design in place prior to its construction.
Many commercial and industrial projects are erected using concrete frame. These structures can sometimes require a slightly different method when being built, compared to conventional structures. Firstly, permeable structures are covered under TG20 compliance, which is great, as long as your contractor is signed up to the NASC (Which they should be to provide compliance sheets), because we don’t need to go forking out for the cost of designs. With these projects we have the option of taking the job straight up to roof height and providing total safe access to the structure, or we can build them progressively and utilise fall arrest systems around the perimeter above. The former option potentially allowing further works to be carried out at an earlier date than previously expected.
These advanced design structures are erected in commercial, industrial and residential projects. Their purpose is to protect your project from the elements in most cases, but they are also erected for the purpose of keeping things in. Temporary roofs are a form of containment that keeps your house in the dry, the structure on the right was built to enable this residential property to have all of its windows taken out and replaced after dealing with damp issues caused by them. Other structures offer protection to the outside such as the hanger in the left picture which was designed for ‘blasting boats’, which is a process which stripped the boats of contaminants such as rust and prepares them for painting and refurbishments. Asbestos scaffolds are another form of containment scaffold required to enable to process of removing asbestos materials from property.
Similar to concrete frames but more often require the scaffold to be full constructed with fully boarded lifts to enable access to all faces and prevent falls outside the building. Again, these can be constructed under TG20 compliance sheets. These types of structures are also built for commercial, residential and industrial projects.
For residential, commercial and industrial projects, cantilevers are generally designed structures that offer themselves out as suitable solution to enable works at height to be complete whilst the ground below either needs to be kept clear, or isn’t suitable to be used as a foundation to the structure.
Tower scaffolds fall under the TG20 Compliance. Used for all types of property, these structures enable access to specific areas to provide a more cost effective solution than scaffolding an entire property. Much more solid than aluminium towers, these structures are suitable to use on rough terrain and can reach significantly higher heights.
A great access solution to save men climbing ladders with materials in their hands. These structures most be designed when exceeding 1.5m in height and therefore should be undertaken and signed off by advanced scaffolders. Suitable for projects of all types!
Timber frame structures are the polar opposite to the concrete and steel structures. These usually require the scaffold to be built prior to any external walls being built and as a result are required to be built by design. New build houses and flats are the usual structures that go up in this manor within the residential sphere.
Independent scaffolding is a great solution to provide safe and secure access to windows for repairs and replacements. These structures are common in all types of property and are sometimes required to be designed in buildings comprised of mostly glass.
Useful in a range of projects across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, beamed bridge scaffolding is an extremely useful method for building platforms and maintaining access for a multitude of reasons. Whether you need to maintain access for people, vehicles, other trades or span across obstacles, it is possible to bridge openings of up to 6m under TG20 compliance before needing a design. It is possible to bridge scaffolds of greater lengths however it will need further designing to ensure structural stability suitable for the work intended.
Boats, much like buildings, require scaffolds for multiple reasons. Whether its access whilst boats are in the hangers, boats that are in the water or boats that are being made up. There are many reasons we need to provide safe access for works to be carried out. Offshore industrial buildings also require dangerous and complex structures for maintenance work. The types of scaffolds will vary massively so it is important that the scaffold contractor has the necessary qualifications and insurances to provide these structures.
Asbestos is a well-known contaminant present in many materials prior to the early 2000’s. Skye Scaffolding Southern ltd will generally construct the scaffold to enable the clients to contain the area and prevent the spread of harmful materials. The image shows a scaffold erected with the use of ranch boards that enable sheeting to be hung and the area contained.
At Skye Scaffolding Southern Ltd, we are professionally approved contractors for Kier who operate Tier 1 sites. This means that we meet the expected standards for Safety and qualification at the highest level on industrial projects.
Scaffolds for demolition require additional support and bulking up to ensure it maintains its strength as a freestanding structure. Usually this requires the scaffold to be designed. The structure above is the after image of a demolition scaffold that was erected to dismantle an old property in order to rebuild. The property was rife in asbestos and required ranch boarding for the asbestos removal company to enclose them selves in. It was also erected using more load bearing fittings to ensure the strength of the scaffold was suitable to maintain itself freestanding.
Scaffolding is an amazing solution when it comes to providing access to high up areas whilst maintaining access below. Gantry scaffolds are another example of how scaffolds can be adaptable and eradicate concerns whilst undertaking projects. In many circumstances driveways and pedestrian routes require access to be kept completely clear. This allows wide and high vehicles, such as ambulances, to be able to continue on their route whilst access is still provided for the tradesmen. Gantry scaffolds are designed structures that are not covered under TG20 compliance sheets and therefore it is important to source the design prior to erecting the structure.
